A class about The Beatles??

Sure, I know I was part of our band, "The ARCHIES" years ago, but really...is there any group better than The Beatles?? WILL there ever be another group like them?
I was so excited to find that this LIS class was offered again. I guess it was on hiatus for awhile.
You may think that this class should be a breeze, right? Wrong! We will be reading tons of material about The Beatles and writing several papers about them. However, included with the work are videos and podcasts as well. It proves to be an exciting semester.
Since I work full time, I'm taking 2 classes and that seem to be enough. My other class is a photography and social movement class, which also seems to be extremely interesting.
I get down at times wondering how the heck I'm going to get all of this done but I take it one day at a time. That's all any of us can do. So - if you're taking classes this semester, good luck! If you're thinking about taking classes next semester, DO IT! It will be worth it!

NEW BABY BOOMER STUDENTS… HELP

Age gracefully…not in this life. Back to school? Aging baby boomer? Life is not a journey to the grave with intentions of arriving safely in a pretty well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming ... WOW! What a ride! So Betty and I decided to return to school. This is my second semester and I still wake up in the middle of the night worried that I should have done something different for class. College has changed since I first attended. The students are younger than most of my children, their goals are different than mine, our eyes see things differently. But we are also alike, we are here to learn and enjoy the process.

There are all sorts of people returning to school but generally we fall into two groups. The first group left school before completing their college educations. The second group is returning because they are seeking something more out of life, more stimulation, and more interaction, to contribute to society. Going back to school can be overwhelming and especially daunting for those not familiar with current technology. I have often thought there should be a handicapped definition for those of us who are technically challenged.

What Betty and I lack is a support system what we hope to find through this blog are more students like us. So please join us. Ask questions; post answers or just sound off… Please Join Us Now.

Vacation is over!?

So, I swore I would be blogging throughout the Christmas break but as you can see, it did not happen. Too much going on, too many visitors, so few hours in a day. Are we all ready to return to classes? I have been looking forward to it for the past week or two. Of course, I'm sure that I'll be sorry I said that in about 3 weeks...
Hope everyone had a wonderful time off, little illness, many friends and family to visit with, and most important, some time for yourself. We all need that.
